Ø Compiled from nearly 100 sources, including work from the U.S. Geological Survey, Idaho Geological Survey, and academic institutions. Ø Advances in geochronology from more than forty studies helped in the construction of this map by improving the understanding of Idaho geologic history. Ø Shows faults, including those active within the last 15,000 years. Ø Shows rocks and sediments with ages from 2.7 billion years to the present day. Ø Includes six geologic cross sections that schematically show the upper 15 km of crust under Idaho. Ø The shaded relief background to the map was constructed from digital elevation data and highlights the surface features of the state. Ø Shows the deposits of both the Missoula and Bonneville catastrophic floods. Ø Comes with a booklet.
