This dataset is taken from the USGS Quaternary Fold and Fault Database. It contains locations and information on faults  in Idaho that are believed to be sources of M>6 earthquakes during the past 15,000 years. These faults are classified by most geologists as "active." Additional older faults are given in the fault layer for this project.

This database serves as an archive of information on geographic, geologic, and paleoseismic parameters that are deemed critical to making geologic-based assessments of seismic hazards.
