Miocene and Younger Faults in Idaho:

Google Earth Version

 (Google Earth must be installed on your computer for this application to work)


Google Earth should start automatically after clicking the link above. If it doesn't start, right-click on the link and then click on "Save Target As". Save the .KMZ file on your local machine (Desktop) and double-click to start the Google Earth application. This application will not run well on a dial-up (low bandwidth) connection.

 Important Usage Note:

By default Google Earth shows web link results in an internal browser located in a window below the main map. This arrangement works BEST for this Idaho Geological Survey application. If your Google Earth is set to use an external browser and you would like the internal browser option, do the following.

Google Earth version 4.x instructions:

1) In the Google Earth Menu, click "Tools" and then "Options". 2) Click the "General" tab. 3) In the “General” box un-click the box by "Show web results in external browser". 4) Click "OK".

Google Earth version3.x instructions:

1) In the Google Earth Menu, click "Tools" and then "Options". 2) Click the "Preferences" tab. 3) In the “Navigation bar” box un-click the box by "Show web results in external browser". 4) Click "OK".
