Despite the uphill battle that the community faces in moving toward better protection of its water resource, a number of related efforts either have been achieved, are currently in progress, or about to begin. One of the biggest of these is the increasing awareness of the valley's water capacity and its implications for future development planning.

The Buildout Analysis committee and the Aquifer Protection Working Group have begun working closely to ensure close coordination and emphasis of mutual goals. Legislative interest in ground water pollution is growing across the state, and public awareness both local, regional, and statewide, is at an all-time high. This presentation, as well as this ground water web site, is part of a continuing and growing effort to promote awareness and knowledge through public outreach campaigns.
