Overview Description: (Geologic map Dikes)Entity and Attribute Overview Description:
Geologic dike lines shows linear (not polygonal) trace of the dike as it intersects the surface of the earth. Garnet isograd unit delineations are derived from geologic contacts which form closed polygons. Contact data (lines) contain accuracy, topology, source, and other info.Data set comes with data model including metadata, legend, and spatial data files.Garnet isograd unit based on lithology determined by mapper. The "value" item is the key link to the data model legend tables. There may also be entries under the "map_object" item for individual polygons. Geologic garnet contacts (polygon lines) items include: "L and R poly", "linetype" (accuracy attribute), "refid1" and "refid3" (entity level source ids), and "map-object" (fault name).Data dictionary for the spatial and legend tables describe each entity and attribute. An overview of the IGS digital geologic map data model can be found at: http://www.idahogeology.org/Lab/datamodel.htm Entity and Attribute Detail Citation: Geologic Map of the St. Maries 30 x 60 Minute Quadrangle, Idaho, Reed S. Lewis, Russell F. Burmester, John D. Kauffman, and Thomas P. Frost, 2000: Idaho Geological Survey GM-28; Data dictionary with this data set Overview Description: (Geochemistry sample data)Entity and Attribute Overview Description:
Geochemistry sample collected by field geologists. Major elements and selected trace elements analyzed by X-ray fluorescence methods. Additional trace elements analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy. Analyzed at Washington State University for the St. Maries 30 x 60 minute quadrangle.
