How to Order—Customer Information

Please read the following information before ordering.

Publications and maps may be purchased by mail or in person at the Idaho Geological Survey's main office located in Morrill Hall on the University of Idaho's campus at Moscow. Prices are current and supercede previous listings. Titles marked “FREE” are available as supplies last. All prices and charges are subject to change without notice.

When ordering by mail, please print your name and address clearly and enclose the total amount of the order, including the shipping charges. Mail orders weighing less than 5 pounds are sent by U.S. Postal Service first-class delivery. Upon request, your order can be sent by other carriers, so please provide a street address even if you also give a post office box. Make checks or money orders payable to the Idaho Geological Survey. Do not send cash with your mail order. Stamps are not accepted as payment for publications or shipping charges. Residents of Idaho add 6% sales tax. All orders must be prepaid.

For large maps, sheet size 44 x 66 or 67 inches, up to 6 maps fit in a tube. The customer should determine the number of tubes necessary and include $2.00 per tube with the order. This charge is in addition to other shipping charges.

The large maps, 44 x 66 or 67 inches, cannot be sent out-side the continental U.S. in a mailing tube. These maps must be folded.

Make Haste Slowly

Most orders are filled within one to two weeks. A few are regrettably delayed or returned because of an incomplete address or insufficient payment for shipping. To avoid delays, double-check the accuracy of your order, particularly to see that you have—

Print-On-Demand Color Maps

The Survey has adopted new technology for printing map publications created in digital formats. The availability of large-sheet, ink-jet plotters allows more geologic mapping to be published on the agency’s limited budget than would be possible with traditional printing. “Print-on-demand” defines a publication that can be issued individually in response to customer requests. The maps are reproduced in 600 dots-per-inch resolution with color inks resistant to run. Colors may fade over time. The result is an affordable, highly readable, full-color document vastly superior to xerographic copies.

Out of Print

Out-of-print publications are denoted on the record display pages. The Idaho Geological Survey can provide photocopies of these documents and any accompanying oversize sheets. .

All publications may be viewed at the Idaho Geological Survey's offices in Moscow, Boise, and Pocatello. Copies are also on file at most public, college, and university libraries in the state.

Microfiche

The Idaho State Historical Society sells a microfiche set of Bulletins 1-23 and Pamphlets 1-167. To purchase the complete set, contact the Idaho State Historical Society, 450 N. 4th Street, Boise, ID 83702.

Idaho Commission for Libraries (formerly Idaho State Library)
